Foliar Sprays and Infusions

By applying fertilizers dissolved in water as sprays to plants, we know that nutrients can be taken up by leaves. But research has been rather haphazard and has not improved our systematic and basic understanding of this uptake mechanism. It is worth exploring whether nutrients can be entered through stems also. It might, for instance, be that we need to design special products such as nano- or biological particles to “carry” the nutrients through the leaves.
